About This Trip

Immerse yourself in the ultimate island getaway with the Leisure Holiday, a relaxed 15 Nights / 16 Days journey by Worldlink Tours. Beginning in Negombo, you will explore the majestic Cultural Triangle—including Sigiriya, Anuradhapura, and Polonnaruwa—before ascending to the misty tea hills of Kandy and Nuwara Eliya. The adventure gently transitions to the wild with a Yala National Park safari, winds down with a serene beach stay near the historic Galle Fort, and concludes with a vibrant city tour of Colombo.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Coastal Welcome

Arrive at Bandaranayake International Airport and meet your guide.
Transfer to Negombo (approx. 30 mins).
Overnight in Negombo.

Day 2: Coastal Leisure

Enjoy a free day at leisure in Negombo.
Overnight in Negombo.

Day 3: The Gentle Giants & Cultural Triangle

After breakfast, checkout at 10:00 AM and transfer to the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawala (approx. 2 hrs 30 mins).
Witness Elephants feeding at 1:00 PM.
Witness Elephants River bathing at 2:00 PM.
Proceed to the hotel in the Cultural Triangle (approx. 2 hrs).
Overnight in Dambulla, Sigiriya, or Habarana.

Day 4: The Lion Rock

After breakfast, transfer to visit the Sigiriya Lion’s Rock Fortress (8th Wonder of the World & UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight in Dambulla, Sigiriya, or Habarana.

Day 5: The First Kingdom

Embark on a day trip to Anuradhapura, the 1st capital of ancient Sri Lanka (approx. 2 hrs).
Visit the Sri Maha Bodhi tree and the Atamasthana (Eight Great Places of Veneration).
Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight in Dambulla, Sigiriya, or Habarana.

Day 6: Caves, Spices & The Sacred City

After breakfast, checkout and transfer to Kandy (approx. 2 hrs 30 mins).
Stop in Dambulla to visit the Dambulla Cave Temple (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Visit a Spice Garden en route.
Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight in Kandy.

Day 7: Kandy City Exploration

After breakfast, commence a city tour of Kandy.
Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, Wood Carving Center, Lankathilake & Gadaladeniya Temples, Gem Store, and Kandy Local Market.
Visit the Botanical Garden, Bahiravokanda Vihara Buddha Statue, and Ceylon Tea Museum (Note: Museum closed on Mondays).
Witness the Cultural Dance Show starting at 5:00 PM.
Overnight in Kandy.

Day 8: The Misty Highlands

After breakfast, travel to Nuwara Eliya (approx. 3 hrs).
En route, visit Ramboda Waterfalls, Hanuman Temple, Tea Factory, and Tea Plantation.
Upon arrival, commence a city tour visiting the Golf Course, Gregory’s Lake, Race Course, and Colonial buildings.
Optional: Horse riding, pony riding, or boating.
Overnight in Nuwara Eliya

Day 9: Plains & Peaks (Optional)

After breakfast, proceed on an optional trip to Horton Plains National Park.
Trek approx. 8km to visit World’s End and Baker’s Falls.
Note: Trekking shoes and a separate vehicle are required to reach the plateau.
Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 10: High Altitude to Wild Lowlands

Spend the morning relaxing.
In the afternoon, checkout and transfer to Yala (approx. 4 hrs).
Overnight in Yala.

Day 11: Safari Adventure

Enjoy a free day for a Jeep safari at Yala National Park (Chance to witness leopards).
Overnight in Yala

Day 12: Coastal Heritage

After breakfast, transfer to Galle (approx. 4 hrs).
Visit the Galle Dutch Fort and its surroundings (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Overnight in Galle, Hikkaduwa, or Bentota.

Day 13: Beach Bliss

Enjoy a full day free at leisure on the coast.
Overnight in Galle, Hikkaduwa, or Bentota.

Day 14: Capital City Charm

After breakfast, checkout and transfer to Colombo (approx. 1 hr 30 mins).
Commence a city tour and shopping in Colombo.
Overnight in Colombo.

Day 15: Urban Leisure

Enjoy a full day free at leisure in Colombo.

Day 16: Departure

After breakfast, checkout and transfer to Colombo (approx. 1 hr 30 mins).
